RECENT TRENDS

Discovered Denim

From such bad experiences, you'd think denim be consulted with the seaside; but this spring/summer has introduced it as a long lost friend with not only jeans being favoured. Jackets, shirts, dresses and ju
mpsuits (known to myself as dungarees) are being hoarded onto our local High Streets like there's no tomorrow. Moreover there is no stopping enthusiastic, pretentious customers that are happy to add a more diverse piece to their denim collections.

I personally credit Chloé with their models dominating the runway with their patchwork jeans and shirts in all one outfit. However, double denim? I'm thinking 70's here, where supposedly hip dressers skirted the streets with their bell bottom jeans and long sleeved jackets. We all know fashion is a cycle but they've madeDDenim look fresher than the fruit on the M&S advert, as if the trend was never seen before.

Typically - in the 70s - if you had patchwork embossed cleverly into your jackets by your mom, it was possibly because you had a widening hole! Now designers and fashionistas D.I.Y have taken this on board, gathering washed out and lined denim, and intentionally incorporated onto their jackets. Crazily, I'm contemplating my ridiculous style history, where my mom dressed myself and my sister exactly the same! Thankfully, after mooching through my photos I found a hype-worthy denim galore: DUNGAREES!

A baggy denim croth held up by a square-like top. I had the one with the kangaroo pouch. Anyhow, that was a very long time ago, but only today did I see them hung up on Urban Outfitter's rack. I was so in awe that I looked at every single pair, even though some of them were exactly the same as the previous. It really just mesmerized me and now I'm on the hunt for a pair. But let my not forget my skirted dungarees, its quite short and I'm not that keen on it, but its just so memoriable that I had to keep it. For keep-sack, I'll keep it, though I'll never wear it!

The common material is once again an appreciated piece in our thought out outfits. Whether its a skirt, shirt, dress, bustier (yep they have them around) , jackets and whatever you can think of.

High Street: Pickup the Denim : Topshop always have some great pieces; Newlook should be a store to hit, their denim jackets are fabulous; Republic have great hareems; A/wear have a great copy of Chloé's patchwork jeans.

love jaime.
